Project Description:

The studio addressed the design of a Child Care Center that can harvest natural resources under different environmental climates. The goal was to utilize computational techniques and performance-driven approaches to design a responsive architecture that facilitates natural resource harvesting from the building envelope, assures nurturing, dependable, exceptional and safe care for children outside the home, and accommodates the needs of children for daytime childcare. The designs considered the site and natural resources available and developed solutions that maximized the productive use of wind, water, sun, and foot falls to generate energy, provide clean water, grow nourishing plants, and educate the occupants about the abundant resources around them.
